The Falling U.S. Dollar

Turn on any news channel and you will find that the once "almighty" U.S. Dollar has been in a long range downward trend. In 1971, Richard Nixon detached the U.S. dollar from the gold standard.

Since then, the amount of currency within the American financial system has skyrocketed to unprecedented amounts.

Smart investors like Jim Rogers, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, George Soros, and Alan Greenspan have stated on numerous occasions that the dollar will continue to drop in value. As more investors (i.e. foreign central banks) awake to this reality and move their investments away from the falling fiat dollar, the dollar will become further devalued, which will have devastating effects upon those who continue to hold them and use them.
